Suad Khalil, MD – Sparrow Hospital’s Physician Hall of Fame
Dr. Suad Khalil was one of the 2022 Doctors’ Day honorees and was named to the Sparrow Hospital Physician Hall of Fame. She is a distinguished pediatric neurologist and current chair of Pediatric Neurology at Sparrow Hospital. Dr. Khalil has expertise in epilepsy and whose fierce advocacy for her patients is second to none.

Dr. Kvalsund receives the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine Foundation for Research & Education Development Grant
The AANEM Award will allow Dr. Kvalsund to identify the most common causes of acute flaccid paralysis and improve clinical care and resource allocations for these disabling conditions in Zambia. In addition, the foundational data collected will inform future research that can lead to scientific advancements that benefit both local and international communities.
Michael Boivin published in top-ranked international journal in HIV/AIDS research
Health outcomes for HIV-positive adults and children have improved drastically as a result of advancing medical research over the past 20 years. Michael Boivin, a Michigan State University professor in the Department of Neurology and Ophthalmology and the Department of Psychiatry, is studying the ways in which Antiretroviral Therapies (ART) taken by pregnant or nursing women affect the neurodevelopment of her child.
