Neuropathology Research Core Laboratory
This laboratory is established to provide both consultation and technical support (histology, light and fluorescence microscopy) for both basic and translational research projects involving the nervous system. Additional support is available through the MSU Pathology Division and the Electron Microscopy facility. Current projects include the Neuropathology Specimens Archive project that aims to catalog archival brain tumor specimens and to provide these for teaching and research. One of the studies using specimens from this archive is to study the differential expression of enzymes involved in metabolism of ketone bodies in glioma cells. Another ongoing collaborative project is to study a potential dog model of neuropathy/motor neuron disease. Please do not hesitate to call or email me with any questions. (Howard Chang, M.D., Ph.D.)
