The Department of Neurology and Ophthalmology has 30 faculty members in East Lansing.  The faculties have been recruited from different locations throughout the country to provide service and research in the discipline, and many sub-disciplines, of neurology.  In addition, there are over 200 clinical faculties statewide in the area of neurology and ophthalmology.

Faculty involvement is essential in the 5 core sections of the Department.  These sections include research, education, clinical, outreach, and administration.  Together, the faculty collectively set annual goals in each of these areas with an overall aim to compete at a top level within its peer groups (Big Ten/CIC and AAU-Land Grant Departments of Neurology) in all core areas.  Individual contributions and achievements are listed under the faculty profiles section.

The Department’s educational programs maintain 20 neurology residents in the residency program with Sparrow Health System and there are currently 5 fellows in various fellowship programs.  Their individual achievements are listed in the resident and fellow profiles.
