David Kaufman, D.O., has been named the recipient of the 2025 Walter F. Patenge Medal of Public Service Award. This award is the highest honor from the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and named for Walter F. Patenge, the first president of the Michigan Osteopathic Medicine Advisory Board.

Congratulations to Anmar Razak, MD,  who has been named to Michigan’s Statewide Stroke Care Advisory Subcommittee, a result of his dedication to advancing stroke care and improving patient outcomes.  Dr. Razak is an Associate Professor in the Department of Neurology and Ophthalmology in the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine and MSU College of Human Medicine.  He brings a wealth of expertise to the subcommittee.

Congratulations Dr. Christos Sidiropoulos on being elected as a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology (FAAN).  Dr. Sidiropoulos is an Associate Professor in the Department of Neurology, College of Osteopathic Medicine, at Michigan State University.  This appointment is in recognition of his valuable contributions to the Academy and to the neurology community at large.

Molly Call is the recipient of the Spring 2022 Unit Research Administrator Spotlight award established by MSU’s Sponsored Programs Administration, the Office of Sponsored Programs and Contract and Grant Administration.  Molly has been working in the Department of Neurology for the past 14 years and we are so fortunate to have such a dedicated and capable staff member as part of our team. 

Congratulations Leslie Simons for being chosen to participate in the 20th Annual Neurology on the Hill Event sponsored by the American Neurology Association.  Neurology on the Hill allows participants to meet with lawmakers and educate them about the critical role of neurologists and advanced practice providers in health care and the need for reform.  This year's event will take place May 23-24, 2022 in Washington, DC.
