Research Interests
Research Interests:

Basic science research is focused on caprine beta-mannosidosis, a lysosomal storage disease, with particular interest in the pathogenesis of nervous system lesions, especially oligodendrocyte and myelin defects, and regulation of expression of lysosomal enzymes in different cell types. New directions include pathological examination of a knock-out mouse model of beta-mannosidosis (generated by Karen Friderici and Mei Zhu).

Medical education research involves investigation of the effectiveness of technology approaches to neuroscience and neuropathology education in Year 2 medical students.
