April Yuki

Assistant Professor

Prior to becoming a doctor, I was an occupational therapist. Helping those who suffered a stroke or other disabling condition to regain their independence. I worked in acute care, in-patient rehabilitation and home care settings.

Medical school had been of interest since high school and after several years of working as an occupational therapist, I decided to return to school and obtain my medical degree. I am a strong proponent of lifelong learning and am always striving to expand my knowledge and skill base.

Clinical Interests:

I have enjoy working with patients who have Parkinson’s disease. Although we don’t have a cure for Parkinson there are so many therapeutic and lifestyle interventions that can help manage symptom and allow patient to find joy in their life.

I have a passion for Mindfulness and its ability to help both patients as well as doctors, other providers and staff members. In addition, I believe in the benefits of merging the knowledge of western and eastern medicine to optimize patient care.

I enjoy performing a wide variety of BOTOX procedures with particular interest in cervical dystonia. I am interested in adding to this skill set by becoming proficient in the use of ultrasound guided BOTOX injections.

I am very conscious of the patient's experience and use a variety of techniques to help patients tolerate an EMG with minimal discomfort and stress.
