The Michigan State University African Alliance Partnership (MSU-AAP) project is incorporating the MISC caregiver training method within our DR Congo NIH-sponsored clinical trial to enhance the effectiveness of the wetting method to de-toxify cassava food. The supporting team of this exceptional project has been selected as the MSU CESA award recipient for this year.

Dr Burghardt comes from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan where he did neurological training including a fellowship in epilepsy and EEG. He is eager to expand the epilepsy monitoring unit at Sparrow Hospital and eventually to establish an epilepsy surgery program at MSU. When not doctoring, he fools around with computers, fusses about the Tigers' pennant chances, plays instruments, reads poetry, and watches Jeopardy! with his wife.
