Mohammed Ismail, M.D. Sparrow Hospital/Michigan State University Vascular Neurology Fellow

 

Biography:  I earned my medical degree from Chittagong Medical College located in Chittagong, Bangladesh.  I then completed my neurology residency at Henry Ford Hospital System in Detroit, Michigan.  I began my three-year combined vascular neurology/interventional neurology fellowship at Sparrow Hospital/Michigan State University in July 2020.  

 

Why did you choosse to become a part of MSU Neurology:  I wanted to be at a place with a reputation of a robust cerebrovascular program, one that would provide me comprehensive training in vascular neurology as well as neuroendovascular surgery. MSU Neurology has both of those and was a natural choice for me, having already spent the past 4 years in Southeast Michigan.Research Interests:  Acute stroke imaging, stroke workflow, novel therapeutics in acute stroke and recovery, medical devices and technology.

 

If you were not a doctor, what would you have chosen as a career:  Pilot, Aeronautical Engineer

 

Extracurricular interests and activities:  Soccer, basketball, video games, restaurant hopping, food connoisseur
