Why did you choose to become part of Michigan State University Neurology?  This was one of my favorite interview days.  Dr. Ward was welcoming, and the residents seemed to be truly happy to be here.  

If you were not a doctor, what would you have chosen as a career?  
I really enjoy cooking, so I would try to become a chef or open my own restaurant.

I really enjoy spending time with my wife and our dog.  I like to play sports and am part of recreational league here in town.  I also enjoy playing games like Dungeons and Dragons or board games.

Why did you choose to becoe part of Michigan State University Neurology?  
Early exposure to neurology beginning in the PGY-1 year was high on my list.  Also being able to interact with upperclassmen very early in order to help gain guidance on how to navigate residency and beyond makes MSU Neurology a very unique program.  

If you were not a doctor, what would you have chosen as a career?
Explore a career in neuropsychology given my background as a neurophyschologist.

My preceptor in medical school was a graduate of MSU Neurology and I admired him as a very well-rounded physician.  My best residency interview experience was with the faculty and residents at MSU.  There are ample opportunities to specialize in Neurology here while building a strong foundation of being a comprehensive neurologist.  

If you were not a doctor, what would you have chosen as a career?
Pilot.

Why Did You Choose to Become Part of MSU Neurology?
I heard about the program while I was training in a Neuro-Ophthalmology Pre-Residency Fellowship at MSU.  I was impressed by the caliber of clinical excellence exercised by the faculty and the sense of family and camaraderie among the residents.  I knew several members of the MSU Neurology team and felt it would be an excellet place to train and call home.  

If You Were Not a Doctor, What Would You Have Chosen as a Career?  
I would have been an actor.  I have undergone professional voice, acting and dancing lessons, so I am only waiting for my big break.

Why did you choose to become part of Michigan State University Neurology?
I became interested in Neurology after I rotated with them as a medical student.  Everyone was so welcoming annd kind, I immediately felt at home.  I was also very impressed by how knowledgeable and independent the residents were!

If you were not a doctor, what would you have chosen for a career?
If I wasn't a doctor, I think I would be a National Park Ranger.  I love being outdoors and hiking so I think I would really enjoy that for a job!  Plus, I would still get to meet new people everyday!

I love to spend time outside, hiking, camping and doing any kind of water activity.  I also love to figure skating (I started when I was 5-years-old).  When I'm spending time inside, I like to read, write, bake, listen to music (mostly Taylor Swift), and take care of my house plants!

MSU Neurology genuinely cares and supports the academic and clinical growth of their residents.  Starting with the PD, chair and administration staff, the program also fosters community and teamwork.  During my audition, these became evident and the one thing that stood out above everything else to ne was how happy the residents were.  

If you were not a doctor, what would you have chosen as a career?
Chef.  I love making Thai, Indian and Italian cuisine.
