Nicole Bowden

I grew up in Lawton, OK. After graduating from Oklahoma State University, I worked as a research technician and then research assistant at UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas in a neuroscience lab that studied Fragile X syndrome. While I enjoyed doing research, I wanted to be involved in the clinical aspect of the brain, so I went back to school at Kansas City University. My husband Joe and I have a daughter named Harper, and we also have two miniature schnauzers named Jigsaw and Radar.

Lawton, OK

Why did you choose to become part of Michigan State University Neurology?

I auditioned here and enjoyed the program. I liked the volume and diversity of patients seen on service, and I liked the residents and faculty that I worked with.

If you were not a doctor, what would you have chosen as a career?

Neuroscientist or neuroeconomist

Extracurricular interests and activities:

Spending time with family, reading, watching movies from the 501 Must-See Movies book.
