Lauren Peruski

Sparrow and MSU Neurology Resident

Bay City, Michigan

Why did you choose to become part of Michigan State University Neurology?

I chose to become a part of MSU Neurology for many reasons. Firstly, I am very confident that I will receive a top-notch education, because I have interacted with many of the faculty in an academic setting. Several of the attending physicians teach and coordinate the neuroscience course at MSUCOM, my alma mater. Throughout the course, it was very obvious that each of them was passionate about teaching, and I am certain that they will carry that passion into resident education. Another reason that I chose MSU Neurology was the patient population. The MSU Neurology service is consistently busy, and the patient population is diverse. I know that I will have the opportunity to see a wide range of pathologies, and will be prepared to encounter almost any situation upon completion of the program. Lastly, and most importantly, I chose MSU Neurology for the wonderful group of people that comprise the team. The Attendings, Residents and all other coworkers were welcoming and kind; I never felt intimidated or out-of-place. Almost immediately, I felt at home, and that was when I knew that this was the program for me.
